That's not sinking... that's abandoning.

=P sinking ones own ship perhaps

Scuttling typically servers a purpose or is a defense against capture.
This is just fear.

This is exactly what Sony wants, to rule through intimidation.
Exactly 100% correct.
Every site that shuts itself down out of fear is literal money in Sony's pockets as they don't even have to lift a proverbial finger to try to shut those sites down.

what do u say about some rom sites tht are working but some roms are not available? is it fear or threats tht caused it?
when psxscene goes down, tht would be the end of a major part of homebrew and hacking

possibly both =P and yes that would be badd

*sigh* I'm not sure where I stand on all this.

On one hand, I'm seriously pissed off at Sony for attacking legitimate homebrew for the PS3. I very strongly support homebrew, and any attack on it makes me angry.

On the other hand, I'm pissed off at the scene for pirating games and cheating online, though this is of course nothing new. More so the second part, since people ACTUALLY PAY for PSN. You aren't just stealing from Sony when you cheat on PSN, you are stealing from the players you are playing against, who paid for PSN and expect a cheat-free experience.

Nonetheless I have accepted the fact that, at least for the moment, piracy sites are what keeps the homebrew community alive to a certain extent.

PSN is free for online play, PSN Plus just gets you goodies and "free" games from the PSN store.

edit: not that cheating on PSN isn't a bad thing though, as even if it's free the users should still get a cheat-free experience.
