Even though the forums are sometimes toxic as hell (I'm looking at you, politics forum...), I still appreciate that GBATemp forums exist to this day.

They're probably THE place where you can get help with console hacking and homebrew, and there are so many amazing homebrew tools hosted here that would be lost to time if GBATemp had to go.

The fact that GBATemp is indexed by search engines also means that you can get help with simply a Google search instead of having to join and search through multiple Discords for your information.

Why do I post it? Well, so many great forums with lots of great people and information were shut down and permanently gone and it feels that there are barely any remaining on the internet anymore.

I wish the internet would go back to forums. I am so tired of sites like Reddit. And I don't even want to get started on social media!

Same here. Everything was so much better with just forums.

But on the internet, I'm a moderator for GBAtemp. Where I feel loved and cherished.

Best answer is a hybrid with a live chat, and we got that here. Needless things get wiped at some point, need things stay.

The early 2000s with forums and irc was about as good as the internet ever got.
Agreed.
