Hacking ps3 with faulty blue-ray

i have just got a ps3 with 3.41 firmware it has a faulty blue-ray drive can i still use the jailbreak and psgroove to play games on internal and external hdd even though the blue-ray is faulty, i read you need to put a game disc in as well

Some games require you to have a Blu Ray Disc in the drive. Some don't. The new Open Manager states that you don't need a disc in there although some games actually do.

So to answer your question. Even if your Blu Ray drive is busted you can still use Jailbreak on most games
