Gaming PS3 noob any up to date guide and product to jail break?

I just bought a 160GB slim that was on sale for 200 USD brand new and I know nothing about the PS3 scene. What device do I need to buy that can be updated later if need be to jail break my PS3

Apple iPod Classic (first video ipod and lower), TI-84/89/+ Calculators, iPhone, iPod Touch, and a wide variety of Android devices all have free software-based jailbreaks. You will have to use google if you want those, and someone else will have to answer for dedicated USB jailbreak devices.

When the console is jailbroken, put the open manager .pkg file right on a usb stick, put it in the ps3 and select game > install packages

Put the .pkg file on a usb stick, plug it in your ps3, 'jailbreak' it, go to the game section on the xmb, click on install package files.

I'd recommend installing Custom Firmware, its totally free and you don't have to use a dongle every time you start your ps3. Do a google search for 3.55 kmeaw, its the best cfw right now.
