PS1/2 (PS1) can I buy a new golden ribbon for the disk drive on ps1 anywhere?

Is it possible to buy a new cable as I recently bought a ps1 with a broken disk drive cable and want to fix it for my brother.

The cables are called fpc, you should be able to find some if you do a google search for your laser model and "PS1 laser fpc". I'm not sure which webshop would have this cable, but I would thing replacing the whole laser unit may be cheaper and much easier than to replace this cable.

Thanks, I will take your advice and replace the disk drive because I went and had a look it is cheaper to get the whole disk drive.

Well since im here.

I bought a new disk drive for the PS1 but didnt come with that ribbon.
Does anyone know where I can get the fpc ribbon
