- Q: What is the PS Vita?
A - The PS Vita is Sony's next generation portable. It is significantly more powerful than the PSP and has a number of new features.
- Q: When is it being released?
A - The PS Vita will be released on December 17, 2011 in Japan and in early 2012 for North America and Europe.
- Q: Does it have backwards compatibility with PSP games?
A - It does up to a point. If you purchased a game from the PlayStation Network, you can re-download that game for free on the new device, however, if you owned the game on UMD, you can use the UMD Passport app to obtain discounted downloads of UMD games you own.
- Q: How much does it cost?
A - The regular model will cost $249 while the 3G model will cost $300.
- Q: How big is the screen?
A - The screen is 5 inches wide. It's an OLED capacitive touchscreen.
- Q: Will my PSP be able to play PS Vita games?
A - No, and it will never be able to.
- Q: When will it be hacked?
A - Nobody knows.
- Q: What are some features of the PS Vita?
A - The PS Vita has dual analog sticks, a 5 inch OLED touchscreen, 3G (in one model), Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi support. It also has a 4 core SGX543MP4+ GPU and a different user interface (LiveArea). It also has an electronic compass, built-in GPS and two cameras. The two cameras allow for face detection and head tracking.
