Quick question:
When menuDO is available, and you download it, will be be just one .nds file that you have to rename to work on your flashcart, or multiple files? Will it need it's own folder?

Not really any reason for asking, I just want to know.
Thanks.

Yes, as every flash cart have different nds files (ttmenu.nds, ak4menu.nds, etc)

QUOTE(Dwight @ Jan 9 2009, 05:24 AM) Also, I suggest that if you decide to make a web page, you should put up a paypal donation thing. I would gladly donate $10 or so if menuDO is all that it's being said to be.
Thanks, for generousity. Most likely ill use the donations for the server. (I'll be hosting some skins and stuffs)

Although, there some problems on putting up a donation page for MENUdo, the biggest reason is that I do not have any paypal account, hence paypal is not available to us filipinoes.

(i edited)?wait....there's a site?and i just noticed you released a demo!odd...is it working almost the same as the complete(to be)version?

SoulAnger, if you can't get PayPal (I definitely know how that feels XD) to pay for hosting, why don't you first try a free web host and then maybe move on to paid hosting if you think it'd be the best time to?

That, or you can sign up for a free blog and upload files via file sharing sites.

Sorry cloud, but I couldnt answer that.

Although I could say the current flow of progress is great.

Anyway, I got a new question, what themes should MENUdo bundle with?

A. (Console War Package) XMB, Xbox dashboard, Wii, GP2x / Dreamcast (any suggestions of regarding this one is welcome)
B. (Vintage Theme Package) Mario, Zelda, Metroid, etc
C. (Original Theme Package) gbatemp, etc.

I would personally choice C. for avoiding lawsuits, but A. is a great way of showing MENUdo's capabilities.
frown.gif

Please suggest, as this is boogling my mind for the past few days already.

If you don't want to be sued then go for C, I know you know that people would have wanted A. Can't you keep the XMB somehow since that is the main thing that got me and other people intrested into it.

When it get released, chances are, I'll have the other theme packages added to the download page.
So Im just looking which one to bundle the program with.

dude, package Chorva will be fine
biggrin.gif
. i don't think it would be much of a bother for us to check out your site for other themes.

Actually, we can register for a PayPal account. UnionBank, as of now, is their current bank partner in the Philippines.

OnT:

I just happened to see this and was surprised that a fellow Filipino is working on it!

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the reply guys, looks like im focusing on C-based themes this time. Now to think about if i should bundle gbatemp.

wait, so menuDO will be almost completely customizable? Like you can code a theme like the old 360 dashboard, or a XMB, or maybe even Wii-like channels?

And I think you should use the GBATemp theme, for now.

Yes indeed.

Hence, virtually any menu is possible. This is why i chose the name MENUdo.
do your own MENU.
All I need is time to create a video to show how immersive the customization is.
Making themes is so fun that I almost forget to code at times.
tongue.gif

The only ugly thing I found, is that MENUdo's theme creation is DS-only, for now. (excluding bmp, editing)
Although, its also nice to polish your themes on the go.

How are the themes made if I may ask?
Is there an inbuilt coding language of sorts in menuDO?

Ambiences (animate backgrounds), are made using formulas with my theme maker. (one line script)
For example if you want a bouncing ball in the background you can easily insert this formula.

Dont worry it sounds like its hard for people who hate math but trust me it doesnt as you would see the result right away with my theme making program.
(Trivia: I dont like math, I barely passed my math subjects, Its ironic that I code)

Icons and Sprite, are made using my theme maker.
Its heavily inspired from Adobe products and mostly with flash.
Its just simple, dragging and precision.
Heres a snapshot of the gui.

Adobe users feel free at home, in the comfort of your DS that is.

You can switch both screen to use different ways of manipulation.
In the this mode you could drag the sprites to move, rotate, or fade. While using the other mode allows you to manipulate using the numbers instead of directly manipulating the sprites.
A more detailed information will be stated, in the near(?) future.

I never grasped the true meaning of irony... can someone please like give me a situation where you use the word "irony".

*gasp* you don't like math? math is my job it makes meee muneyz!!!! or rather will i trying to get in to architecture for uni...
