This is an unofficial port that I made to run the games without the need for vWii, straight from the gamepad and with touch.
It works perfectly with Aroma, I haven't tested the rpx.

I am grateful to anyone who can test and help collaborate. It's my first time making homebrews.

A community-developed, native ScummVM port for Nintendo Wii U running Aroma.Launch ScummVM directly from the Wii U Menu and play using the GamePadtouchscreen or the analog stick and buttons. No RetroArch required.

This is an unofficial, experimental port, not an official ScummVM release. The current Wii U package includes only the SCUMM engine, not every enginesupported by desktop ScummVM. Games are not included.

Features

  • Native Wii U application packaged as ScummVM.wuhb for Aroma.
  • ScummVM name and icon on the Wii U Menu.
  • Standard ScummVM launcher, with video output on the TV and GamePad.
  • Touchscreen pointer control, including tap-to-click.
  • Analog-stick pointer control with physical left/right mouse buttons.
  • Native Wii U on-screen keyboard for text entry and save descriptions.
  • Audio playback through the existing SDL mixer backend.
  • Game data browsing, configuration and save files on the SD card.
  • SDL2-based backend; no Libretro frontend or RetroArch dependency.

I have tested only in Aroma environment.

This is really cool. I wish more homebrew ports incorporated the gamepad and touch controls.

Now I can finally play old LucasArts games on the TV without needing a fuckass keyboard setup with a table.

@Rrhapsody First of all, excellent work! Thanks for the time and effort you put into this.I’ve been testing it, and it works well with the two games I tried: *Monkey Island 1* and *Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis*. However, there are some issues when saving the game. The save itself works fine, but after save, when you push Exit to launcher (the Scumm launcher) or Quit (exiting to the Wii U launcher), the console often freezes, requiring a hard reset.
The same thing happens when you go to confirm or cancel using the on-screen keyboard; the console often freezes.

I hope you implement support for MT-32 and MP3 decoding in future updates. Thanks in advance.

I wonder if it would run Riven?

I have tested the LucasArts games only, but i think Riven works.

Thanks! Long live the gamepad!

I will investigate this issues, my friend.

If it can run Groovie engine games like the Eleventh Hour I will switch over from the official Wii version in a heartbeat.

Never heard. They are compatible with ScummVM?

Apparently Riven runs on the Mohawk engine...Where as this package includes only the SCUMM engine....edit So vwii SCUMM runs the Mohawk engine .... but performance will be vwii'ed.... I will stayed tuned**Awesome Job!
