I would hope that it's Team Cyclops, since they are already working on a new GUI, and this could have been that GUI, but since it's a cheap and exceptional flashcart, my money is on either the DSTT or AK2.

Honestly, at the price of those flashcarts, I would probably purchase one just to experience the full version of MENUdo.

If AceKard is the company that Soul is selling menuDO to, I would definitely get an AK2i and get two birds with one stone. I would have a sleek, sexy menu and I would also have a DSi-compatible card... until the next DSi firmware release, anyways.

it's not that he sold out it's just that he needs the help of the flashcart team to get commercial rom loading on it anyway so why not sell it to them considering you spent all that time on it? also this means nothing to those who wanted menudo before as soul stated from the start that there would only be rom loading support for one cart (yet to be announced) and the rest would just only load homebrew (like moonshell)

and to those saying you have to buy it, that is not true. you buy the flashcart, the menu is free to download it just won't work on a different cart

Just like he said, I stated alot of times that MENUdo only support one cart for commercial loading. Honestly, nothing has changed, its just now I'm communicating with that cart's official team.

If your talking about homebrews is always free, I believe you havent gone deeper to the homebrew scene. Outside the DS Homebrew scene alot of people are selling their homebrews. The GP2X community is a great example. Most of the best brews out there, are most notably being sold. The GBA scene has homebrews being sold, I believe.
Also, I'm sorry but this devices are not illegal, back in the better days when loading commercial roms are not yet 100%. Everyone was buying this devices for merely loading and developing homebrews. Back in those days, people never thought of buying these stuffs for piracy. And, alot of people I know still uses these devices mainly for homebrew. Check out DCemu, GBAdev and other homebrew dedicated sites.
I care about these people, so I wouldnt like them to add additional cash for this. Hence, this is reason why I did a free version.

One request from me:
Is it possible to make the free version acting like DSision2, so that one got a nds-file and use it as YSMenu-Autoboot file. And when it should load a commercial game it uses YSMenu.
It would be a small amount of work but with lots of advantages for the community

IMHO I'm proud of soulanger releasing it as a firmware because he has put hard work into this project which is stunning and has the opportunity to make money from it. For all those people saying that MenuDO is frustrating with the whole 'Free version' then tough, its his product so he can do what he wants. In a way it is similar to bobs game where he has worked crazy hard on it but unlike bob soulanger has companies wanting to use his software. Whatever flashcart soul chooses I will buy it and support him all the way simply because I want to use it above all the other firmwares.
Also I don't really like DSision2 because it is extremely buggy so x-mah-D imo its the other way round.

I'm honestly okay with Soulanger releasing a version that costs money. He's said from the start that it's going to work on a specific cart, and nothing has changed. The only thing is that now other carts are getting a free version, so in reality, this is good news.

And seriously, if I spent tons of time on a homebrew that had potential, I would charge money for it. Maybe just donations, but I would still want some compensation for my hard work.

Also, I think that this site is more anal about free stuff as compared to other sites. Hell, it's based around piracy.

If I understand right, the free version just doesn't have commercial ROM loading. That is if I read correctly.

it's not that only people who buy the carts can download this, it's just that only people with that cart can use it. it's exactly the same as sakura and moonshell 2.0 only difference is that the non-rom supporting menudo will not be so buggy

why is everyone slamming this but everyone supported sakura? it makes no sense

I do have a question, is this cart yet to be announced or already in production? Because many of us will be pleased to hear if the cart we have will use the MENUdo that supports commercial loading.

Most likely it will be a all-new flashcart, but sakura used a old m3 real.

Well, I'll be honest, I'm extremely disappointed by this. In a way, I partially agree with x-mah-D, and I'm very saddened by the way things turned out. However, I don't hold a grudge against you Soul, and I wish you and your homebrew the best of luck, even though I do not support what has happened.
