This is gonna a huge undertaking, and my understanding of C# isn't too great so I'll need staff and testers.

[GOALS]

1. Gain the ability to view .pkm/.pk6 files

2. Gain the ability to edit+save said files

3. Add a design and UI into 3Fhex

4. Add main file support

5. Test and fix bugs

6. Release.

3FHex will be open-source and coded in C or C#. I need all the coders and testers I can get my hands on.

I don't know yet, I'm currently looking at the ironhax installer source for pointers on where to start with this.
I'm not good at programming in any language at all. :P
I do know the basics but just that, but I'll be glad to help with testing!

As a side question, why 3FHex?
Was it a typo of 3DHex? :P

It will edit main files from sd? (Backups from save manage / tdvs)
Yes, hopefully but first I want to get the app to read the name of a pokemon in a pk6 file. Needless to say it will be a long time until that comes (if it happens)

I'm a hipster

Thanks, I'm gonna work on getting the names of the pokemon displayed on the 3ds first. (Do you know their names? That'd help a lot to see if they're located in the same place)
The first one is an Electrike (even though its nickname is Abomasnow) and the second one is a Xatu :)

Here's my recommendation:

Make it so that 3FHex reads the .SAV files directly from the root of the SD.
Here's the info you'll need for reading and detecting the proper .SAV per game and region:

POKEMON Y:
  • USA/EUR/JAP - 0004000000055E00.sav

POKEMON X:
  • USA/EUR/JAP - 0004000000055D00.sav

POKEMON OMEGA RUBY:
  • USA/EUR/JAP - 000400000011C400.sav

POKEMON ALPHA SAPPHIRE:
  • USA/EUR/JAP - 000400000011C500.sav
This is EXACTLY how Gateway stores the .SAV for each game in the root of the SD.
There is no variation in the names between regions.
