I upgraded SD card from 64gb to 512gb by using Nh-server's "changing SD card" guide (i cant paste the real url)

After im done restoring my old card content to new card and started any game, I get "blue screen" of errors. Tinfoil wont open either. I don't know that I did wrong. I inserted my old Sd card back in again and everything worked fine again but can't get my new SD card to work although it got the same content as an old sd card.

Any help would be appreciated.

I’m following along w/ you here: https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/extras/transfer_sd/

Are you using files based or partition based emunand (or no emunand at all)?

Yeah thats the guide im using.
Im using partition based emunand.

I just stomped upon new guide from rentry site( cant link that tho).
Should I try that method also?
It requires me to download NxNandManager and EmuTool.

Please post a screenshot of your /bootloader/backup/xxxxxxxx/restore directory.

E: also a screenshot of your SDCard in Disk Manager on your PC.

And please post a screenshot of the emuMMC page in Hekate (when you boot back up)

Okay, now that I read the whole hekate guide, its exactly what I did.
Now im totally lost at what went wrong. I did that method twice now.

although at step14. I moved all files to new SD card? would that be a problem?
and my 64gb card partition size was different than new one, could that also be a problem?

Yes, the process is pretty close to the same. The tricky part is ensuring that when you make your backup that you be sure to switch Hekate from backing up Sysnand to backing up emunand. That would definitely cause issues similar to this.

No, that is not a problem. You are just more efficient. ;-)

It could be, but only if it’s off by a lot. Just a little different is probably OK.

When you open the Disk Manager app on your PC, does it show 2 partitions on you new SDCard? Please take a screenshot of this.

It will look something like this:

This looks normal and what I would expect.
This does not look like a partition based emunand. It only has 6G for what would be the emunand.

Let’s use the EmuTool version of this guide:

https://rentry.org/EmuNANDNewSDcard

Try using the following source and target. There’s no need to redo the file copies…just download the tool and copy emunand from 64G card to 512G card.

Did you have a hidden partition emunand on the 64GB before?
@Hayato213 was suggesting this might be the issue with his hint here…

It does NOT look like you had a hidden partition.

That is a bit of trouble. Let’s try this then.

I suspect you now have 2 emunands on your 512G card. One is files based and the other is partition based.

Let’s ignore your 64G card for now.

Put your 512 card in and select the same options and have it copy your files based emunand on your 512G card to your partition based emunand, also on yiur 512G card.

E: for the target you will select osio 1

That is correct, we want to use Emutools to copy FROM Atmosphere Files TO Atmosphere Partition. For the target you will select osio 1.

@binkinator
Now i understood fully what you ment.
Problem is that emutool gives me error "boot0 not found"
source is emuMMC\RAW1\nintendo
so does that mean i haven't used file based emunand?
im really confused.

solved the problem.

I wiped my 512gb card from all files and partitions.
Transfers my 64gb cards content by drag and drop (still couldn't able to reach switch menu).
created emuMMC from hekate and now at least my tinfoil started.

Thank you @binkinator for trying to help.

I have a similar issue after using https://nh-server.github.io/switch-guide/extras/transfer_sd/ to upgrade from 128gb to 256gb. My new 256gb is missing all save game data, games, and preferences like not tapping a button 3x to wake. Where did I go wrong? Atmosphere loads fine. My old SD still loads everything as normal

Please post:
1) contents of your sdmc:/emummc/emummc.ini file on both cards
2) a screen shot of the sdmc:/emummc directory on both cards
3) a screenshot of Hekate -> emuMMC
