There are definitely issues related to SDHC support. Crediar added this support and I have barely had a chance to look into this in great detail, but there are definitely issues. Some are related to preloader and some are not.

I have 6 x wii consoles on hand to test with and 3 SDHC cards and one micro SDHC with adapter. I have had mixed results across various different firmwares, which make no logical sense at all. Some work some of the time, some work all of the time and some don't work at all. To the poster who said JODI 0.29 broke SDHC on his wii. That's a technical impossibility. The source for 0.29 was never released and a simple hex hack to change HAXX to JODI would not have inflicted on SD loading. There has to be another factor in his case, which may or may not be related to issues with preloader.

I'm currently working on the following (in order of priority):
[*]More stability on auto booting dol files[*]Better compatability for SD/SDHC cards[*]USB support[*]WAD Installer / Uninstaller (no ability to remove sm/ios)[*]Possibility of installing and playing chip tunes (aka: keygen music)[*]Power down and reset from within preloader

transam81: You're right, you posted "4GB SDHC", but as has been said, it must be a mistake since 0.29 did not support SDHC. But I was not trying to search a fight, only help on developing.

phpgeek: I forgot to thank you. So I do now: thank you! The problem (I think) is that the SD spec is not free... I'm trying to investigate the hardwared differences between SD and SDHC, but I've not much time; However if I get news, I will post them.

im using preloader 0.29 and when i get message update available 0.30 it just says downloading changelog... and stops like it

Download the newest preloader to your SD and install it using HBC

@phpgeek First i'd like to thank you for your work and i'm pleased to read that it is still on going. i'm very grateful to every1 who continues to create such imaginative homebrew.
Sorry about the confusion i must have been using my 1GB sandisk SD card. i sold it as part of a softmod deal for some1 i know.
i for sure was running preloader v0.29 @ the time so if hack.ini was working then that must be the case.

@jacobopantoja, yeah well i guess i can get a bit too defensive, when being called. out like that, sorry if it was a bit much.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
  • cearp @ cearp:
It's nice to not have to have a lot of physical things though, saves space

  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
Nor clothes 🤮 . Saves on time, soap, water and money having to wash them. :D
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@rqkaiju2, Physical media is a great source for archiving your data, none of that cloud storage shiz.
