Hacking Preloader v0.30 Installer / Removal Tool

im using preloader 0.29 and when i get message update available 0.30 it just says downloading changelog... and stops like it

Download the newest preloader to your SD and install it using HBC

Should I uninstall preloader .29 using the deleter in HBC first or just copy new .30r3 file folder into apps and install using HBC?

Okay, I am the version 3.2U guy

I got preloader to load by doing this:

Install preloader 0.29 JODI. It seemed to want an IOS 36 trucha and ES. Installed correctly

Then, I ran version preloader 0.30 version 3 and was able to update it.

Hacks working, autoboot to bootmii working,,,but now..............

bootmii will not load system menu when selected. Bootmii will load HBC.

Anyone know why?

change your preloader setting to return to system menu. preloader comes with certain presets that you want to change.

some ppl dont like to update the preloader. so its a drag to keep saying no to the reminder. beside the install/uninstall through HBC takes only seconds.

i have to agree aswel example HBC keeps annoyingly popping up to update but i dont want o til i update preloader but im still waiting on confirmation SDHC support is solid

I hear what you are saying, but there can be an option to Show / Not show updates the way the Beta update option was. If there are going to be constant revisions (a good thing!), it might be useful even though the: find revision, download on your computer, unrar, rename dol file, copy to SD card, run in HBC, install isn't that difficult (but Auto-Update is easier!).

Stupid how Crediar didn't release the source AFTER 4 months he stopped the project when it is LEGALLY needed. And so he complains about other people editing his project when he dosn't give a damn about Preloader anymore...

Anyways, I was wondering about a NAND backup and restorer for Preloader... I know there is BootMii, but what about the people who don't have BootMii as boot2. It would provide lots of EXTRA brick protection.

You know you can still make a nand backup with bootmii as ios.

You got me thinking, even if you're bricked and u don't have bootmii or homebrew installed (say u removed them somehow, but only after making a nand backup), but if you can still access preloader (this is a big if when everything else has stopped working), you should have no problem recovering even if u can't access homebrew, w/ preloader you can install and/or boot a file, specifically the boot.dol for the hackmii installer (I've successfully loaded it this way). Then from there you can reinstall bootmii and access it via preloader 0.30 to restore your nand.

I've never actually had to use this method to recover from a brick (I have bootmii boot2), but I can't see why it wouldn't work (actually, if u had cioscorp, you may not be able to run the hackmii installer... so just one more reason to install cioscorp, haha!)
