PPSSPP has just gotten a new update that adds a ton of new fixes and improvements. Version 1.12 of the PSP emulator is available to download, bringing with it support for Android 12's scoped storage, along with various optimizations for other platforms. A handful of games also now run without issue on PPSSPP, including NBA Live 08, Ape Academy 2, and more. Lots of audio and graphical improvements were also made, with reverb volume, being able to switch to new audio devices without having to close the emulator, and getting rid of image artifacting in certain games.

There are some new UI options as well, which lets you see how much memory you're using, an undo button for loading a savestate, and a new analog stick mapping menu. For those interested in adhoc play, PPSSPP 1.12 features some improvements on that front, too. Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker now works and can correctly detect the right source port, response time for online play is better across the board, the emulator no longer crashes when you leave a multiplayer room in-game, and plenty more, which can be seen in the full changelog.

Why did Android 10 upwards break apps eitherhow ?

Google adds more n more BS to their OS....
I am a bit fuzzy on the exact details but it has something to do with external storage permissions like SD cards or USB storage. Probably someone found a way to use it to access people's phones that where locked or viruses or something. So they locked them down and older emulators don't jump through the hoops needed to access external storage. It's a pain...

Thanks for the info, I will definitely try it when I get home.

@SylverReZ, I also heard one of the Prince of Persia games was so unfinished that it required the "24/7 online" drm so a puzzle could be done and the game could be finished. And that when the Ubisoft servers were closed the (cracked) game was impossible to finish or something like that
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, That's extra scummy. Ubisoft nowadays ship out incomplete games like Skull and Bones which was being worked on for nearly a decade now.

I like that games can be fixed after the fact, hate that it's being abused via beta tests... And DLC... I was a 7800 owner back in the day and loved Impossible Mission, turns out I couldn't beat it because it was actually impossible lol
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I never knew about it at the time but a fixed version was available but you had to mail in your broken copy lol

So that version is semi rare
