ROM Hack Power Pro Kun Pocket 13 error?

I'm trying to play this game, and some message pops up in Japanese. Nothing happens, and the message with a dog on the screen just sits there.

I'm running AKAIO 1.8.1 and all recent games (Golden Sun, etc...) work perfectly.
