What's the point of using a counter for emails when you keep it at 999+ unread emails?

When I started using a counter, I didn't have 999+ unread emails. Now, it's just fun to show to people with OCD.

Total Launcher (I highly recommend this launcher, though I don't think many people have heard of it. It offers much more unique customization than any launcher I've ever used. The learning curve is only slightly steeper than your conventional launcher, but totally worth it. Give it a try if you've ever had to "settle" for a launcher's shortcomings)

Got a new phone, so far it is just Nova Launcher with a few tweaks(Dark app drawer and slide icon for folder on the dock bar), I wanted to check out Action Launcher 3, but the cool features that I want to try are paid, sadly.
