Don't, they'll actually spend it on alcohol (if they are wise. A lot will spend it on drugs). Buy them a coffee or give them a sandwich. At least you know they will eat something nice with the money you would have given them

Actually, NO. I was one of those homeless for 7 years. There were some of us who really used the money well. On food, soap, laundry. Just to seem a bit "Normal" to the world. AND Appreciated what was given.
