    So, scenario:
    • One NDSL with Pokemon Black on an R4 flashcart
    • One 3DSXL with Pokemon Black on a DSTWO flashcart
Can I use the union room to transfer pokemon from Black on the NDSL to Black on the 3DSXL just to force evolution? As of yet I don't have the 3DSXL so I can't test it out (if I go into the Union room my signal bar goes from all green to red so I'm assuming it's because I'm alone and there's no second DS console nearby), but I'd like to know whether this is possible once I acquire it. I know I can't use infrared since this feature would be part of the original ROM.

    Thanks a lot.

I was able to trade and evolve pokemon from platinum (On DSTWO) with a normal platinum cartridge on 3DS just fine. So I would assume you could do between a DSTWO and R4.

Hopefully so! This shouldn't be a problem for the newer games since there's a functioning GTS service. I don't know anyone who owns a Nintendo handheld so I could never trade.

    Thanks

DS Roms work perfectly normal in-game. And as long and they haven't trimmed, local, online and even DS Download play should work.

The only limitations are related to connections within one console (AKA. Pokémon Dream Radar, PokéTransporter, Pal Park, Link Park).
