I'm using an 8GB card with rxTools and was just curious if it was possible to resize the partiton? The partition is only 2.73GB leaving me barely any room to install stuff. I tried resizing the partition to take up the whole card but now EmuNand won't boot, could also use some help with that issue

Emunand is virtually your console's system. So of course you can't reduce it or it won't work.
It's like trying to decrease the capacity of your own console. All the system files won't fit there.

So, no. You can't reduce it. I would suggest getting a bigger SD card, especially since you'll have to install everything in CIA format and 8GB is nowhere near enough for all of it.

I'm not trying to reduce the size, I'm trying to get more room on the card instead of having 4GB of unallocated space

The emunand partition may be hidden but it doesn't mean it's empty. You can't reduce it. It will have to be in the SD card if you want to have emunand.
It's literally a copy of your console's system.

Like I said, get a bigger card.

So is there anyway I can get my EmuNand running again after attempting to make it larger?
Try resizing it to its original size, but chances are you corrupted something by changing around the size of the partition. Youll probs have to reformat

Everyone seems to be completely missing the point. He has much less space than he should with an 8 GB card.

@Baccabechoppin
You should definitely have more space than that. Due to how memory card/drive manufacturers calculate size, a 8 GB card will actually be a bit smaller (around 7.5 GB)
The emuNAND should only take up around 1 GB of space, or up to 2 GB if you have a n3DS, so you should have around 6 GB (+/- 500 MB) space left on the card. You can extend the FAT32 partition to the right with a partition manager, just as long as you don't touch the ~1GB of unallocated space at the beginning of the file system.

He did say that the emunand partition for him was around 2GB if I understood it correctly. So it seemed normal to me

Yeah I touched that 1GB of unallocated space, I assume that's why I can't boot EmuNand any more

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze

    Booo.

same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
