Hacking Possible to connect wii HDD external drive up to network simultainousl

Is it possible to have my external HDD connected to my wired network at the same time to make transferring stuff easier?

connecting it to a NAS or something?

or skipping the external case all together and simply running the wii HDD off a compatible server or some sort?

I guess if you got a case that is able to connect to the network, and usb..
It should be possible..

Then you should just put ur HDD next to ur wii, conenct the USB to the wii, and the network cable to your network, and whenever you're not playing, you can transfer data to it.
