TL;DR there is a way to find out what stat will be passed down by what parent with the destiny knot.

I already knew this? But I never really had to reset or anything, i'd usually get it straight off.

It's a pretty good method too, all 6 IV spooky tree.

Exactly! I don't bother with it. I only do the EV training since it's so simple now I feel obligated to do it or else I will get rolled.

I don't mind EV training, but breeding perfect IV pokemon seems so tedious! I did a lot of breeding for egg moves in previous gens, and maybe that's why I'm completely tired of breeding anything.

Unless you plan to do multiplayer battle, there is really no need for IV training. Even then you rarely will face a Pokemon that has been IV trained.
