I'm beginning to develop an android app that will display information on each set of Pokemon TCG.
If it were to be complete, or at least show some major progress, would you pay $.99 for it? Would you actually have a use for it?
It is most likely going to start as a free app, I'm just curious.

I have a teeny tiny beta for download so you can see what I mean. Things will likely change in the future such as layout, images, etc. I'll make some custom logos, and have set icons instead of text for the set selector if it looks better.
The grayed-out options are just a possibility, I am not sure if I can implement those things, but I will try after the database is finished. For now it is known as Pokemon TCG Viewer.

Progress
Base Set #001-010
Jungle #001-002

Downloads
Beta v.01 : Mediafire (COMING SOON, I PROMISE

App Inventor. I'm picking up SDK development as well, when I learn that I would like to build this from scratch.

It would probably easier than using AI. I hate having to use a single screen. :

Just to warn you the Pokemon Company recently DMCA all the Pokedex apps in the Android Market so if you try putting it there it will be taken off in no time. There are third party markets you can sell your app from, of course, but it won't receive nearly as much attention.

Probably never, Nintendo has never made stuff for other "companies" (in this case, Google), only for their own things like Nintendo DS.
I figure I'll probably set up a domain and site, have the download there, and give a donate option, but leave it completely free with all features unlocked even without donating.
It's called donating for a reason, it shouldn't be to get special privileges. That bothers me about some apps that say "donate version" haha.

Anyways, I'm holding off on the beta for now. I want to have at least a set + the Wizards promos set up to look at. (:

i thought everybody knew cocktails are like 75% ice
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Yeah but not like this.
  • Veho @ Veho:
It's not like they're complaining that their Slurpee is 99% ice or something, but if the cocktail calls for "shot of vodka, shot of vermouth, shot of gin, shot of Campari, three shots of juice, squirt of lemon" and ends up being a thimbleful of booze, that's a problem.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the funny thing is cocktails in norway are only allowed to have 1 20ml shot of booze
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    so..... yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
we're used to only having a thimbleful of booze
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Booo.
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
same thing if you want whisky on the rocks or something, you can't get a double
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
but you could buy as many shots of whisky (or anything else) as you want and ask for a glass of ice and pour them in
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's dumb
  • Veho @ Veho:
    Maybe.

There was a comparison of the number of Ibuprofen poisonings before and after they limited the maximum dosage per box or per pill (i'll look that up). No limit on the number of boxes you can still buy as many as you want, so people argued it was pointless.
  • Veho @ Veho:
But the number of (accidental) poisonings dropped because drinking an entire package of ibuprofen pills went from "I need a new liver" to "I need a new box of Ibuprofen".
  • Veho @ Veho:
Here we have ketoprofen that used to be prescription-only because of the risk of toxic dosages, but then they halved the dose per pill and sell them in bottles of six pills apiece instead of twenty and it doesn't need a prescription any more. Yes you can buy more than one bottle but people simply don't.

Usually accidentally overdose of ibuprofen here is from people taking like cold medicine then ibuprofen for a headache and the combination is over what they need
