Seeing as the game is out in Japan, and isn't due out in America until November and Europe next year, I was wondering if anyone is considering doing a partial translation of the game?
Such as Pokemon names, menus and items. Its mainly for the missions to do in-game.
@KazoWAR @SciresM @Asia81

Also, if anyone has already decrypted the rom, this game has passwords, and alot of them. Any dataminers want to post the passwords?

EDIT: As I doubt anyone will pick this up, Imma try it myself, the rom has been decrypted and extraction of the files have been done.

Well as mensioned in the OP, the rom consists of .bin and .lua files
When opened, they show garbage. Currently I do not know the proper program to open and edit them.

November isn't really that far away, and if anything, the English used in those games will be rather similar to that in Europe, so why not just play the American version once it comes out in roughly a month and a half?

As childish as it sounds, I wanna play it now haha
I only want to translate items and the names of Pokemon

Looking at that ProjectPokemon thread, i think I may leave this. Seems to be more work for what its worth.

Yeah you can.

EDIT: Lua scripts decrypted, seems the .bin files are encrypted too.

Does anyone know where the text files are located? I want to make a translation of this game

I wanted to try to translate at least the menus and some items with the same icons, so I researched a bit.
I found the strings are in message.bin.
message.bin is a FARC file, which is basically an archive. I don't know the specifics of the format, though.
Inside this archive, there's 808 string databases. This guy posted some info on the format. String encoding is most probably UTF-16.
And that's pretty much all I can tell. There aren't any programs to edit these files I'm aware of.

just as I was about to tell you to reopen that file in a different codepage somebody already did. I can recognize it when I see it. I would suggest opening it crystaltile2 and viewing it in the hex pane, then changing the code page. Seems like you are looking at a newer version of the SIR0 files found in shiren the wanderer 4+5 (NDS,PSP) and 999 (Ds) and some other games that I can't remember right now. I can tell you it will be easier to just mess with the hash of messages you find early on in the game. It will be the best way to figure out what each part does. SO find the very first text you see in game and mess with one digit in its hash. Test see what happens screen shot it. move on to the next digit, test...post your results. I would also screw around with some of the other unknown hex just to see what happens.

Oh sweet, so someone is working on this... I'm in the same boat as you, and I also want to play the game now. But if nothing can be done after all, it's only a couple of months away and I'll just wait it out

I won't be working on it anymore, so I'll leave messagetool.py here: https://gist.github.com/mid-kid/8279635ee8dc57560e96
It's a tool to unpack the message.bin to readable, plain text files.
It mostly works, but there's some rough edges here and there.
I hope somebody can do something with it.

Usage:
Unpacking:
Code:
python3 messagetool.py extract message.bin messages_extracted
Packing:
Code:
python3 messagetool.py pack messages_extracted new_message.bin
