Pokémon Sun & Moon

The first details for Pokémon Sun & Moon have been revealed. These details come via the first footage of the game which showcases some new Pokémon including the starters and the legends. It will be released on November 18th 2016 in the US and Japan and November 23rd in Europe. The game takes place in the Alola Region and th three starters are the Grass/Flying Rowlet, the Fire-type Litten and the Water-type Popplio. The Japanese trailer also confirms that you can alter your skin pigment in the game, just like X & Y. Keep checking back as we get more details.

The areas more resemble the ones from Colosseum or xD now which is great of course, but as they still support the OG3DS there will be again either no 3D effect or it will be laggy sometimes.

If Nintendo was smart, they will require 11.0 firm to even run Sun/Moon which will break NTR and Some homebrews. They could also implement cheat and CFW checking so the game does not run or disables online when detected.

at least for the clock speed setting in Luma, 11.0 FIRM should not affect it as NTR users will probably be screwed until NTR works with 11.0 FIRM.

That's a long way to go considering that sun&moon won't be released until winter 2016\2017. By then, we'll be on 15.0 firmware lol

I think the game looks fantastic!
I am actually excited for it.

I like the Hawaii theme, I like the Pokemon designs (the Sun legendary will have to grow on me) love the camera angles in overworld, like the trainer designs, like the boxart, the shapes of areas look much more natural which I like (less grid-looking).

I'll be getting Moon version and choosing Litten!

With the giant Volcano present in the map in the trailer and the obvious link with volcanoes and Hawaii we can assume Volcanion will be in Sun & Moon and not simply an event Pokemon.

We could have predicted this. Japan is crazy about Hawaii, it's filled with Japanese people.

EDIT: Actually many people predicted this, though mainly after the Sun & Moon reveal where buildings and vehicles resembling ones found in Hawaii were shown, as well as a Hawaiian Vivillon being traded in the video.
The earlier hints are more interesting.
Last year the Pokemon Marketing Director was asked "... can you just throw a cryptic word out there? Just anything. Something will get me to scratch my head. That, like, in eight months I’ll go, “That’s what he was talking about!”
To which he responded “Flowers”. Which of course reminds one of the Hawaiian flower design and their distinctive flower necklaces.

There is of course one in Hawaii.

More, the unnamed bird Pokemon in the reveal trailer is based off a bird found in Hawaii, the Red Crested Cardinal.

On another note the Sun legendary seems to have made an appearance 16 years ago in the Pokemon: Spell Of The Unknown movie as an unknown "Sun god" in a book of legendary Pokemon.

Notice the Hawaiian flowers too.
The book also has other Pokemon from the 2nd gen drawn as stylised and exaggerated styles rather than how they actually look, so the difference in appearance is warranted.

We've only seen a small snippet of the starting area and maybe the first city yet people are complaining about how small the region is..? ok...

Ikr? I think this will be the biggest Pokémon game world we've ever seen. I highly doubt that city we saw in the trailer is the largest city in the game.

Perhaps it's the new 3D and far render distance that's throwing people off? Because the game looked gigantic go me.

Yeah! Great way for Nintendo to regain lost ground a la Yo-Kai Watch while keeping things very fresh. Also, you know how these games have the two main legendaries and one other regional legendary that you can catch later? I believe that will be Volcanion.

On another note, we're getting a Hawaiian Disney princess.

Pokémon 3DS have been region free, am I right?

Technically.
But the update included in the cartridge renders it non-region free, because different regions cartridges will have one of USA/EUR/JPN updates on them.
If you try to run one out of region, the 3DS reads it because the game itself is region-free, but it cannot run because the update check fails.

each his own taste, but for me I rather have great outdated graphics (as in Yo-Kai Watch. Is Yo-Kai Watch outdated? I find it surprisingly fresh) than to have toe-curling graphics as in Pokemon XY and in which SunMoon seems to be a continuation of. If anno 2016 that's the best they can come up with then I pass gracefully.
