Game is still going great. Only thing I'm stuck on is getting the correct palette for the large, 256 color intro sprites. Other than that, everything is going great. Might see a patch by the end of the month.

When do you think you'll be finished? (Just Curious)
Not sure really. Some things were pesky at first, but are easier now. The main thing it will depend on is how much I really do on this. By that, I mean, I could just give the game a few sprite upgrades, Mt. Silver, and fixing text, or I could go all the way to changing the Phone Card back into the Cellphone, inputting devamped D/P pokemon sprites to give the game a new look, & making another copy of the game with lower level pokemon for the people that want a less challenging game. It all depends on how much effort I put into it. I will say this. Whenever I finish something major, like finishing name fixes, Mt Silver completed, or other things, I will release a patch.

Also, the reason the "X" is on the title screen, is because Zel wanted to indicate that it was the harder version. I can change this. I'll change this before the first patch comes out, & indicate in the intro message that it is version "X" instead.

Oh okay. Was just wondering. I couldn't really find a Decent Link for the ShinyGold Rom Hack for GBA...so was kinda hoping to see if this would finish.

I know it's not much, but i'm real fussy when it comes to mapping.

I've circled two common tiles errors here.
The red circles should be "ledge edges", unless of course it's like that on purpose...
(Ledge edges like how it's done on the ledge below the house.)

The green circles also use the wrong tiles.
Notice the little squares in each corner?
There should be 4 white path tiles with a little dash in the corner, they make the path look whole.

*sigh*
if you have no idea what im talking about i can use more pictures.

I see what you are saying. I want it to look as good as possible, so thank you for telling me. All but 1 of those tiles were purposely placed there. The ledge ones would look better with those other tiles. Those more toward the center & left were made before the ones on the right, so thats why those were errored. The reason for the misplaced tiles on the concrete area in front of the building was because I couldn't find the right tile for it, mainly because I didnt know what i was looking for. The tiles are mixed everywhere. I'll repair what I can, & post the new version. I'm also gonna pm you, just to let you know...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EDIT: Fixed. You will notice I left 2 ledge tiles alone, the ones on each side of the map, because it looked better without another ledge piece on it. I did fix every other one, & I fixed the minor "sidewalk" panels as well. If there is anything else wrong, someone please speak up.

There are empty slots in the pokemon list (mainly glitches that were either taken out pokemon or blank space), & I thought of using them, just to add more meaning into the game, that the others don't have. Here are a few of the pokemon I have decided on.

1) Munchlax (only by way of breeding)
2) Bonsly (only by way of breeding)
3) (Surfing)Pikachu (only by way of trading with in game trainer)

I will probably also put others that you will only get to see in the game, not obtain without cheats.

You might see a patch soon. It wont be VERY soon, but you should see it around Christmas. You can consider it an early Christmas present.

I attempted to contact Zel once again, but his inbox was full. I'm just gonna forget about contacting him, & add even more credit in game to him.

I like the idea, but this kind of bothers me.

Do you have permission from Zel to use his his hack? I don't think it's right to be using his hack without his permission...

EDIT: also, I see "unofficial development", but does that really make it... "ok"?

Looks great!! Keep up the good work.

Well if Zel was easier to contact, I think we'd know if it was "ok" or not. Since he is not replying/doesn't care, I say He should continue to improve, and if Zel wants to give a damn he'll give one sooner or later.

Exactly. I have tried multiple times, & since I can't get him, & he wouldn't respond when I did get a message to him, I just made sure to tell that this isn't official development, & I gave credit thoroughly.

A patch will be released soon. Be checking in the next week.

Any progress? When do you think you will be releasing it?

I released my first patch earlier today (about 3:00 am by my time). Try it out. I'm also working on more as we speak.

Hey great job on the game but how far could I get in this latest released beta??
And when do you think the game will wholly be completed, where it could be beaten??
And if I started with this newest beta would I have to restart my game when a newer beta was ready??
Thanks!!!!

Because Zel, the project owner of this game, was nice enough to do most of everything, you can get through all of Johto, through the Pokemon League, & through a few of the Kanto cities. Most Kanto cities have been fixed & accessible now, but you cannot get the correct badge from the gym leader there (ex. Viridian, Pewter, & Cinnabar). You also cannot access Mt. Silver yet because of this. The game does have legendary Pokemon in it already, along with a Celebi event, & a secret Jirachi (in which I will not reveal the location of, since Zel did not want to before).

If you mean through all badges & through Mt. Silver, it mainly all depends on what I decide to do first. There are other things on my list besides rooms itself.

No, you will not have to restart. You can actually switch a Fire Red save with a Shiny Gold save & the game still load your stuff, you would just be located in the wrong area. All you have to do, is make sure your sav file is named correctly to your new rom, & it will work just fine.

There are still problems with the game that need to be fixed first, like setting the flight location of Cherrygrove City (since it didn't have a flying location), & other things pertaining to the map. Now that I have the main patch out, I can continue. I am actually almost ready for another patch, fixing obvious things in the one released, so that will come soon.

im sorry to say this but i think you ruined it i tried my old Save of Shiny Gold and it comes out Corrupted so i tried it on a clean fire red and it comes out the IM Circuit Board is not install i cant load up my save -.-

Edit:Nevermind i figured out what was Wrong the old Shiny Gold Sav works for the Beta 6 Keep it up ok!

IM circuit board error is because you don't have the save setting correct. Save type must be Flash 128k. You must also have the same name for your sav file that the rom's name has.
(example, it would be something like Pokemon - FireRed.gba. Your sav file would need to be Pokemon - FireRed.sav. )
Then it will load. (I know you figured it out. This is mainly for others that have the problem.)
