ROM Hack [Pokemon S/M] Changing Pokemon types?

Hello, I am very familiar with hacking Pokemon moon and using Pkhax. One thing I have a qustion about is, there are an editor that allows editing of Pokemon types (For example: changing Ivysaur to a steel type)? I can't seem to find any information online anywhere...

you would need to edit the rom itself. (or patch on the ram like a cheat)
as far as i know pkhax is just a save editor right? with a save editor you can change stats, levels, the list of which attacks in the moveset, but type of the attack (or pokemon type) and stuff like what is good or bad at, it's read from the rom itself
