Knowing a lot about computers has nothing to do with coding and learning to code from ground isn't something you can learn in a week or so.
If you still insist on learning I can provide you with some links for good C++ coding tutorials.

I really doubt Rykin would hand you the project. For someone to take this project from Rykin, they would have to have at least basic knowledge, the will to continue, and probably some experience with ROM hacking. (Probably a ROM hack of their own)

To Rykin:

This kind of has to deal with the translation but either way it's ROM hacking. My question is, would you be able to edit the part in the ROM where it reverts new pokemon formes to the original, when you try and connect to wifi?

This is while talking to the MIDDLE lady in the bottom floor of pokecenters.

It's part of the games coding, because if you go to get on wifi, even if you choose no and dont save, if you had a pokemon in your party say..one of rotoms new formes, even if you didnt save and don't go on wi-fi, it will revert back to normal forme. So I'm thinking it could be found in the ROM and edited so that it DOESNT revert the formes.

I'm pretty sure that's impossible to do. The reason is because that is there to prevent you from using a new form against a D/P player, or trading a new form to a D/P player.

Well I should rephrase my post. I know it's possible. It's been discussed at length on other forums and I dont wanna get into the technicalities of it but it can be done. Somone has already found the area where it checks for rotom and origin giratina, but couldnt find how to replace it with something that makes it not revert. Somone just needs to spend some time on it and it can be figured out.. Rykin?

Also, theres no reason why it shouldnt work on battling or trading, the D/P player would just see the sprite of its original forme on there game cart. The only thing DP cant replicate is the sprites.

Hate to beat a dead horse, but don't bother getting it so cheats work, Rykin. The patch changes the game ID, that's why 3.1 "doesn't work with cheats." Anyone who wants their codes to work just has to use the new ID, which I posted yesterday.

Yeah, I'm at that point too, and after the battle starts, after that like at 2-3 secs, it's jsut freezes with the music freezed too.

Can you fix it?

The GameID has nothing to do with the cheats. The gameID is nothing more than a HASH check. If you check the gameID on the patches that WORK with cheats you'll see that the gameID is different too.

Before, I replaced files of the same size, so all the data stayed in the same place. This caused some errors because I had to pad some files to make them the original size.

In 3.1, the files aren't padded, and are smaller than the oirginal. This causes all the data to shift.

AR codes work like hex editors. They say: Point to this location in the data, and change it to this.
However, if the data is shifted, the AR codes will be pointing to the wrong data.

I'll work on fixing the Giratina Origin form when I get to that point in the game.
I currently have 6 badges.

I also just recently noticed that you added your name on the title screen where it shows OF Giratina floating in the bottom screen...that's pretty awesome :]

Dunno if you answered this already, but sdid you fix that glitch where you talk to someone and they'll say something completely different? For example, talking to a person and they say what a sign says... or talking to your rival and he says what another NPC says... etc.

I did in a lot of places. It depends on what location you're referring to.

Each area has it's own script file.

The reason some areas have mixed text is because DP has less script than Plat.
Here's an example:
DP has this.

Pokemart text
Sign Text
People text

Platinum may sometimes have this:
Pokemart Text
Sign Text
Move Tutor Text
People text

However, placing the DP text over the Plat text causes issues because it now does this:
Pokemart Text -> DP Pokemart Text
Sign Text - > DP Sign Text
Move Tutor Text -> DP People Text
People Text -> Blank


The game has it's scripts/text divided into 709 files. With v3, I believe I fixed many of these errors, but some of them I let slip as they didn't seem they'd be that bad. If you notice text errors you need to tell me where it is exactly. As some areas use several text files. (The GTS building has 3 to 5 itself)

PS. I know of Cavaline(whatever it's called) city. That'll be worked out soon.
