Hacking Pokémon ORAS w/ Sky3DS - Backup Save corrupted

Well, the games save in very different ways, so do you want to work on the CARD1 save first?

Which game is it, exactly?

Most games I do have is CARD1 (except Pokemon), yes I want to work on CARD1 save first. New Super Mario 2, Kingdom Hearts for example.

Tried backup/restore savedata in the same folder but didn't get any to work...

Load NewSuperMario2, have 6Up, back it up to .sav file and .bks as well.
Load the game again, delete the save, empty data now.
Restore savedata from the Writer (restore the 6Up save).
Load the game again, empty data.

Just figured out how does backup/restore savedata work.

Tested on CARD1 game
1/ Backup the save to .sav
Restore .sav to the same slot won't work, even try to delete the game then restore.

2/ Delete the game then replace to other slots or format the card, restore .sav to the game will work.
The save will remain to the same slot even the game was deleted (tried once but not quite sure)

Hope Sky3DS will fix that stupid procedure.

Yep, the sky3ds saves slots are fixed, so your save backup won't work unless the game is also in the same slot. Also something else to keep in mind, and I hope i can explain this properly.

When you are trying to restore a game save, you cannot have that game loaded as the CURRENT/ACTIVE game. When you restore your save, the save is actually on the sdcard, not the eeprom. So you need to be on another game and switch back to it to have the restored game save loaded.

I personally don't use the diskwriter save/restore backup function at all. I use http://www.disk-editor.org/. For those that understand hex editing/disk sectors, it's easier to just cut and paste. Your save file sectors are super easy to figure out, it's basically in between the rom sectors(look at what the sky3ds diskwriter rom sectors tell you).
