What are you're all's hopes for the new Pokemon games?

Personal, I'm hoping for the follower mechanic to come back.

Most of all, far less interruption from dialogue than Sun/Moon. I'd like more wide open spaces and new ways to encounter Pokemon and trainers. Also make Pokemon Snap a minigame available in the overworld that earns you rewards. That is all.

I don't care about touch screen so I hope that is not in there.
I would like to see one of the biggest maps we have ever seen in a pokemon game before with addons that will add new region.
Also the addons adding new pokemon to the mix as well, doing things like that will extend the game longer before a new game comes out.

much higher difficulty/tactical requirement probably for post-end game content given the game is still geared towards kids.
a significantly better plot

would be a good start

Pokemon that follow you, battle frontier, cheap competitive items (like focus sash, weakness policy etc should be cheap and easily accessible and not be restricted to post game usage locked behind 40+BP paywall), Difficulty modes like in Gen 5 (available from the start preferably), more lively idle animations for the pokemon, bring back the poke ride from gen 7, brand new ultra shinies that are rarer than regular shinies and these ultra shinies will have really good color schemes for the pokemon, orchestrated music maybe?

Would be nice if they integrated all the more useless pokemon into actually being viable as well; sun and moon introduced countless moveset changes, yet Dedenne still can't learn any special fairy moves, or even newer pokemon like Comfey can't learn Moonblast, both being specially offensive >>. Ultra was nice, but just not enough imo :o -changed a little of the plot here and there, but I was so hoping to see Lillie's progression as a trainer and more on Necrozma if Stars will be a thing.

i keep hearing all this hype for pokemon on switch but has there actually been an announcement?

i dont even think their will be a pokemon on switch, not in the traditional formula anyway. And not for at least a few years

lol obiosuly there has been an announcement on last e3 they showed the pokemon title an said the next mainline pokemon game is in developmen for the switch...

I know it's not realistic, but I ant a complete and total revamp of Pokemon to fully realize the potential of the series. It could be so much more than the simple game it is now (barring competitive play, that is). We're likely to see a mostly by the numbers Pokemon game with higher-fidelity graphics. That's alright with me, I'm gonna buy it anyways and even if it's the same ol' thing, I'll enjoy it, but I'll always have a thought in the back of my head that this series could be so much more.

Pokemon that follow you
Less dialogue
When I first started playing the Pokemon games, I really liked it, but then I dropped out as I now find turn-based battles to be too boring/tedious. It probably won't happen, but I'd like to see it have more action and be a lot more like Pokken Tournament.

Same here ,once you start real time battles there is no coming back to turn base games

My expectations are pretty low. After Sun/Moon my interest on Pokémon franchise is near to zero. I'm more interested about Shin Megami Tensei V. Plus, I think GameFreak will do a bad job again and the game will struggle to run on Switch hardware, like what happened on 3DS era.

I would love a complete overhaul, Pokemon is starting to get old and some new concepts wouldn't hurt. SuMo was nice and all, but they advertised it like it was a revolution in the series, but in the end they only changed the form, but the content was exactly the same. We've seen very interesting with romhacks (like Pokemon Glazed), so I think the Pokemon World could use a little lifting

I don't think a real-time battle system can work for Pokemon tbh. It'd involve having to simplify move usage and get rid of many moves, items, etc. Even if they made the requisite mechanical cuts to make the transition, they'd still have to ensure that every Pokemon has the animations and fine-tuned mechanics to be fun to use. There's a reason Pokken doesn't incllude every single Pokemon. It takes a long time to create just one Pokken fighter and balance it. Doing so for almost 1,000 Pokemon would be incredibly impractical. There's no possible way they'd cut Pokemon from the main-series roster ever, so a real-time system similar to Pokken is mostly out of the question.

yeah sun and moon were the worst pokemon generation ever, srs everyone was praising finaly no more 8 gyms and such, and then we got the worst games in the series, x and y were preety fun even if they werent diferent i would take 10 games like x and y over any more gen using pokemon sun and moon playwise and storywise really.

Hmm. I also hope for pokemon to follow you again. I don't know why they bring it back once in a while only to take it away again.
Keep the Ride Pokemon feature, I really like that.
And, well, as a GSC fan, it'd be cool to visit old regions after the elite 4. Even if they're downsized somewhat.
