I have a crazy theory on how this game might determine when to crash.
The formula I have come up with is:

-(0.5)x^3 - 2.5x + 24 = Events Before Crash

Where X is the amount of gym badges the player has.

This lines up with my test of 21 events before crashing after 1 badge and numerous reports of 24 events before crashing reported numerous times.
This also lines up with the 3 events reported by many players after defeating Whitney.
If someone could test this as to whether or not 15 events is correct for a player after 2 gym badges,
then maybe these numbers could help those who are delving into the hex decimals.

That or everything I just wrote is garbage

Uh... No? Try putting 8 there, that comes out negative.
errr, no?
Actually, everything after 3 comes out as a negative. Where did you get this formula from though?

Can anyone please try this set of code.

I'm testing it right now and I'm going in and out the house 25+ times now..

How do I go about putting this code into my YSMenu? O.o

You'll need the R4 Cheat Code Editor. I recommend the one made by Yasu.

Oh great. It took me long enough to find his YSMenu files, let alone this one. Can anyone link me to it? I'm sick of just sitting around, I wanna actually try now i'm finally next to my DS. :3

I was assuming the "-" was an indent...
Otherwise, the answer is -300

-(0.5)x^3 - 2.5x + 24
-(0.5)8^3 - 2.5*8 + 24
-(0.5)512 - 2.5*8 + 24
-256 - 2.5*8 + 24
-256 - 20 + 24
-256 - 44

-300
There's another place you're going wrong.

Maaaaaan.

I read everyone saying theirs doesn't crash ever with AK2i and AKAIO 1.6RC but mine just did. Oh well...

And ditto. Let it be known that even we need a fix.

Edit: To the below: Didn't even take 3 badges here :\

For those with an Acekard2 and 1.6 RC1.. after 3 badges, you do not freeze, meaning the ROM works 100% flawlessly, correct ?

to be honest as much as i hate to say it it kkinda makes sence even with the negitive number

lets look back at another Anti Piracy measure from nintendo and i hate to bring it up again but look at earthbound now for those that dont know earthbound had an anti piracy measure that was un noticeable at the begining and as you collected meoldies (same thing as the pokemon badges you beat a boss and you get one) enemys started increasing in number an a rate greater than in a legit cartrage (up to 10 ducks can be on the screen at once after the 4th melody is collected) there are 11 major events in that game, the 8 melodies, Tea Time with Mr Saturn, Magicant, and entering the main villians lair the game still operates until you get to the main villians lair and then deletes it self

if the AP is similar then each badge lowers how many events can be used and when you hit the event that brings the counter to be constantly negitive its an automatic game erase.

this isnt the most constructive post but im just saying it shows that nintendo could do something like that because they have done brutal AP before

He has m3 real , he sais that before playing he use arm7 fix and then 0 freezes oO. Im gonna do the same thing
Yeah, but.. then it would be the arm7.bin file?

sorry I dont understand anything about that:S
I mean: then the existing arm7.bin file is the problem, if he just patched the arm7.bin file.

Maybe. Im a r4 user so I will test in r4 and then I will tell you what happend

I just tested this on my M3 Real DS with thr latest Firmware.

Before adding arm7.bin , i could enter a house and exit 12 times (24 events)

after patching the arm7.bin it was the exact same, so doesnt work.

Isn't it possible that they represent that digit as an unsigned number? This is software after all. It's possible they realized that you can't have negative events. Once you get past the 4th badge or whatever it might just overflow. Anybody guess how many bits they would represent the digits as?

The graph of the function would look like this just to clear up some confusion.
All values of x greater than this are zero.

After getting the 3rd badge, the crashing didn't get worse for me, still takes around 30-50 min to crash and I find it totally playable. Using a Supercard DSONE btw.

-256 - 20 + 24 = negative two-hundred and fifty six minus twenty plus twenty four.

You can't have -256 -20 + 24 because there is no operation between the -256 and -20
