As you may know, Pokemon Platinum needed a 1MB .sav file. I remember when I played it, I had to save 3 times for it to save at least once properly.

Will Pokemon HG/SS require a 1MB .sav? For all the people who beat the japanese rom, did you need a 1MB save? This is for the R4DS users only!!

    Please discuss here!

Update: Now we are talking about a new YSMenu version being released from one of our members and some other info. Be sure to check the last page and see what we are talking about!!

The Japanese version needed a 1 MB save. There is also an updated savlib.dat (for you DSTT/YSMenu users) that automatically saves it as such.

Can you please link me YSMenu stuff? IF a HG/SS patch comes out, will it work for YSMenu? Will I be able to use cheats on it? Please tell me in depth!!

I think it needs a 1MB save. I've played the patched Japanese version, and I think it was a 1MB save.

How does the YSMenu thing work? Can someone link me setup info? But like i said if their is a patch, will it most likely work for HG/SS on the YSMenu?

    LOL

    i have r4sdhc and i use 512kbytes save files

    Heartgold (J) worked normally
    Platinum (u) worked normally

i finished both games and never had a freeze or anything with the 512kb save file

There's a guide on the forum somewhere, search for it.

No-one knows what the patch(If they'll be one) will work with.
Like I said, it's now a waiting game.

I have had zero problems with SoulSilver on my R4 aside from the occasional black screen.

Oh but the fact that HG/SS actually worked on the R4, albeit partially, it gives me some hope that any patch if made should work on the R4, since it's essentially patching the game and not the firmware [IMG]

It's pretty weird for me. Platinum worked fine after I got updated with YSmenu and everything, but trying to play SoulSilver, saving isn't working at all. I'll check some of that stuff you guys just posted and see how it goes.

I've read that the 1024kbyte save for Platinum was required to use the battle recording feature.

Do you think with my R4 I can play the whole game? I dont care about blackscreens. I care about having not save errors with 1MB and 512kb
