in every recent pokemon game there's an npc for that.
it's not accurate, but it gives you an idea along the lines of 0%-25%-50%-75%-100%
she(usually a female NPC) gives comments about how the top pokemon in the list feels about you, and if happiness is at it's highest she usually gives a ribbon.

Is it possible to get more than 1 exp share without cheating?

ie - get someone to trade me a pokemon carrying an exp share

and if so would anyone like to do such a trade with me?

To answer ur question, yes u can get multiple EXP. shares w/o cheating.

Now, my question: What is a good electric type pokemon? Right now I have an Electivre and a Manetric, but neither is especially great.

Any suggestions?

Lol Electivire is one of the best Electric types in the game. If you don't want it then go for Zapdos.

ive currently beat all the gym leaders

got all 3 cats, got latios? latias? the smaller one
got articuno (fuck you) and zapdos (easier)

Next I need to drop down into mt. silver and get moltres, then stop by whirl islands and get Lugia.

Then I need to fight the E4 some more times to level up because I'm mid 50s. I can't get Kyogre until I get the kanto starters (which is after I beat red) and i'm still too low to fight him.

I just did the double battle (accidentally) w/ Silver and holy motherballs that was hard. I had to use Lapras liberally with max potions at level 51. Especially with that level 75 Dragonite (who I knew my lapras was slower and counted on sturdy shell on keeping me alive enough to pull off an Avalanche).'

Guess it didn't help i was powerleveling my Nidorino and didn't have my E4 team with me.

Imo Jolteon or Raichu make good electric types to manage. I use Ampharos myself, but using him is annoying because I ALWAYS have to use Thunder Wave to be able to go first next turn.

Anyone know a website with the preferred stats to level up a pokemon (Ie. Properly EV Train it..?)
Also the preferred nature for each pokemon?

I am planning to start a new team of six after I complete the game.

i've decided on keeping Electivire as my electric type. It is actually quite good and it gains 5 for attack and 4 for SP. attack every level

I use Electivire and Ampharos because I refuse to use legendaries. :3

But personally a Starmie with Thunder is usually what I use to dish out Electric dmg for a laugh.

Yeah I have a Gengar and Starmie with thunderbolt and they kill just about any water pokemon without much of a threat.

And Black Ace, your team has three pokemon weak to rock... Might want to change it a bit unless you don't care for rock.

I just picked up Pokemon HeartGold but I'm curious about something... Which tends to be more popular, HG or SS? I'm not asking which is better, as apart from Pokemon that can be caught the two seem to be pretty much identical. I asked a Gamestop employee which they've sold more copies of and it appears to be SoulSilver so I went with HeartGold. I don't play many Pokemon games so other than the 1st gen starters (Squirtle, Bulbasaur, etc.) I don't have any real preference over Pokemon. Only wanted to get the version less people go with so the ones I don't have in my version are easier to obtain.

That sux, but Ive never had an issue like that where the story failed to play out the way it was suppose to...Oh and Entei stinks. Use some other Fire type like Thyphlosion, Arcanine, or Houndoom.
