Which Pokemon game do you all think have the best catch able Pokemon on the first route where you can catch them, without the national Pokedex?

I was gonna go with gen 4, but Chary beat me to it. I kept all 4 of those on my team. I'm now going with gen 3 because Ralts

Edit: It turns out route 101 in gen III does not have Ralts - I was going off bad data, see updated post below

Gen 4. You get Starly, which is a solid flying type for the whole game, and Shinx, which evolves into Luxray (electric) and looks awesome. You also get ace HM slave Bidoof.
Found a shiny bidoof in platinum (this was before I rng'd saves) before I had any pokeballs. Such a sad moment.

Just for a change, I'd say Gen 3 wasn't too bad either. Eventually you could end up with Starter + Swellow/Pelipper + Gardevoir/Mighteyana + Shiftry and a zigzagoone as a hm slave.
Edit: maybe a slaking too

You can also get growlith if you have FireRed in the GBA-slot.
Right off the bat you get a nice flying, fire, and electric type to go with whichever starter was chosen.
Almost an entire team set up just on the first route.

After some extensive research you can only obtain Starly, Bidoof and Kricketot on route 201

You cannot use the dongle method until after obtaining the national Pokedex and unlocking the pal park - which means no Growlithe

Ah, my bad then.
Forgot about needing the national dex for growlithe.
And I see now that shinx is one route over.

Don't you get the pokedex and balls at the second town?

Also, in gen 1 the earliest you can catch Pokémon is after reaching viridian city, so any of the connected routes count.

National dex is not the same thing as the regular pokedex.

I don't think that's how it works. First route means first route.

Gen 4 an 6 are surprisingly similiar if you consider that both give you a really great Flying Pokémon (Starly/Fletchling) and a near-perfect HM slave (Bidoof/Zigzagoon). Yeah, I just called those two useless things "near perfect" lol.
I'd have gone with Gen 6 hands down if you had any chance to find a Gale Wings Fletchling but, considering there's no way and the regular ability (Big Pecks) is near useless on Talonflame, I'd say Gen 4.

Still, Gen 7 gets at least a honorable mention due to its species variety - holy crap I didn't realize you could find so many different ones there!

@SylverReZ, atleast wiimmfii went fine although people only use it for Mario kart Wii

At least if they ban you for cheating, get another Wii. They're cheap as chips.

    not really

It got shutdown because somebody "accidentally" leaked the database for the amount of people using the beta.

RiiShop is the laziest way of downloading Wii games. Did somebody not think of this through?
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
although i ended up accidentally changing my nand with no way of going back bc i didn't know you needed a gamecube controller to restore it (i have a wii minus/1.1, which doesn't have gamecube controller support)
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, I think you're talking about the recovery mode that the SaveMii used, and also was to restore softbricked systems.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
If your NAND was hardbricked, then just buy another Wii. Or go with the dirty NAND flasher method.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
and if i find the sd card i have my NAND backed up on, i can not only restore the NAND if i solder the right part in, but i can also put my NAND on dolphin, then i can play dolphin online, like PMEX Remix or MKWii Riibalanced
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    Brb
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@BakerMan, Oh yeah, that was a thing too. Dolphin does support Wiimmfi.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
yeah you just need to put your NAND backup with wiimmfi on it
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
ngl i feel like if a bunch of my friends have wiis and know how to get wiimmfi and back up their NAND, then we could do a PMEX Remix tournament
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
maybe even add UMVC3/DBFZ and make it a biathlon/triathlon
