Gaming Pokemon Black/White question

Hey all!

The only pokemon generation I skipped was black and white!

I know there is a white 2 and black 2 as well.

So which one should I play? the first or 2nd?

Is Pokemon Black the favored version? And oh it’s a sequel? I thought it was just an updated one like emerald is to ruby and sapphire.
