so basically if hacked pokemon look legit they'll pass through? nothing new. We all knew this wouldn't be full proof. The only reason it got delayed was cause of the server crash not because Nintendo wanted to try and stop hacked Pokemon.

Nah. The delay was definitely in part caused by the vulnerability of illegal origin transferring.

Previously you could transfer stuff from Gen V and X/Y would treat it as if it originated in Kalos. The mons can then be used in the Kalos only brackets and VGC battles -- this was a huge vulnerability which caused them to delay the release to the rest of the world where tournaments were happening. They had to fix it or risk compromising their tournaments.

Once we found the vuln shortly after JP release, it was reported (with how to replicate) to AlphaZealot (TPCI tourney organizer) who then likely helped the devs take care of things for 1.1.

I figured the Kalos mark hack would be patched. Not sure what doesn't go through now. Which I will try in the morning.

I got Phione with the kalos mark, and in the details it said that it was hatched in Kalos, does it OK or it was hacked?

so this was done just by mistake, you transfer a gen v and it has the kalos mark?
or you have do do some hack to the pokemon, and then it has the kalos mark when it is transferred over?
and so nintendo fixed that? good :)

how was the kalos mark hacked on the other pokemon then?

If you edited stuff. No "bug" involved, just hacking.

just modify the origin hex to match that of an X/Y mon and then fix the checksum.

put it in your game via GTS exploit and then transfer it to bank.

pokemon is treated as if it was a kalos native.

So that means the hacked "Kalos" pokemon actually is coming from a Gen5 game. Well, it's certainly a fairly easy thing to detect.
