Guys Im using reinand newerst version I think ver4.1.
Ok, my first question is reinand outdate?
The second is what is A9LH? Sorry about my low knowlegde

While reinand isn't outdated most people will recommend you to use luma3ds. Which is based off of reinand.
A9LH is a hack thats lets you boot you cfw milisecond after pressing the power button. It also lets you safely update your sysnand to the latest firmware without losing your cfw.

Nice @Crystal the Glaceon, I actually cant wait for Nintendo to make 11.2 require a newer kernel. Then rxTools users will be forced to update, even though they should have ages ago, RxTools is dead now, no one is working on it and everyone should just move on!

We were spammed because spammers. And this isn't Elitism, I am not demeaning RXTools, but I am trying to progress the community past it. RXTools used to be good, but it was never finished nor made stable before it died. Now people are using not only a dead CFW, but an unstable one, when there are clearly better options. Updating to a newer CFW is painless and so worth the extra 5 minutes to do it.

Anyway, I remember when RXTools was the latest good stuff. I joined the 3DS modding scene late last year, and it was the most widely used thing at the time. Switching to what was AuReiNAND at the time was painless, and I did it only after a few months after it was released because it was the newest stuff, and, well, I like to be on the bleeding edge of things. Hell, I compiled my own A9LH install! Never looking back to the dark days of menuhax, and the yellow screen I got 50% of the time...

I never even used Menuhax, I'd only used rxTools+Browserhax before switching over to Luma+a9lh.

I can dump my games, convert them to cia, use cia from any region, play homebrews / emulator.
The only thing that sucks is GBA. But I have PsP / PsVita, so np for me

rxTools' region emulation is one of the most broken things I've ever seen in any CFW ever. Also you don't get dynarec with rxTools which IIRC is required with some emulators.

I oftenly play USA games while I got an euro 3DS, I have never been faced to any problem. Maybe this is really specific ?


I have old 3ds, so even with dynarec I will never be able to play things like PS1 / SNES decently. Game Boy works great x)
I think PSP / PsVITA are better for those thing, better screen, better performance also ( maybe not for PSP, but it can play PS1 game without problem )

You can do that with every other cfw and in fact you can do it better with Decrypt9+Any CFW. You also don't have to struggle with GBA on any other CFW.
Every CFW does what RXTools did, but they do it better.

I had a lot of issues using out of region games when playing EU or patched CIAs on my US old 3DS.

1. When I turn on my 3ds it goes into the grid launcher. Then I have to select luma. Then it goes into the 3ds menu. Is there a way to make it boot straight into the 3ds menu when I turn on the 3ds?

2. rxtools has the option to boot into rxMode on sysNAND, which allows you to install gba CIAs on sysNAND. Does Luma3DS have this option? And if it does, how do I use it?

you could probably hold L while luma boots to go to sysnand. but I'd suggest going with arm9loaderhax so you can use sysnand only (no emunand).

I read somewhere (on Gbatemp) that RxTools don't support 2.51 kernel. Since I have replaced this one with Luma3DS, will my EmuNAND be able to support future kernels (starting from 2.51), even if I don't have A9LH-ed my 3ds?

Crystal, could you also add that the other possible reason that users are still clinging to RXTools is that it works with MSET and on 4.xx?

Some people don't want to stop using it because they have to update their sysnands through sysupdater (which is extremely way-forward).

Yes, people still go through the DS exploit manually to get to their cfw.......

I hope people listen because boi I'm not gonna be the one to help them out of the hole they got themselves into when Rx dies, either by Nintendy's hands or it just bricking their 3ds. {All right that's a damn lie, I will help, but FUCK y'all need to just switch and be done with it, people.}
