if you plan on getting into homebrew stuff I would highly suggest looking into a new 3ds as the higher clock speed opens up more possibilities. One that comes to mind(just for example, there are many more) is the retroarch playstation emulator. Better gba emulation and snes emulation as well. There is also a n3ds exclusive custom firmware called ntr cfw that has some cool features. If you're on a budget though 2ds will still let you install games, and it certainly is cheaper
