Hacking Playing Retail Cart Online w/ NN3DS XL

Hey all! I'm still all very new to this, but by Friday I'm hopefully going to have in my possession a NN3DS XL, a retail copy of Smash 3DS, and my Gateway.

I was wondering if there was anyway to play my physical copy of Sm4sh updated without having to mess with the firmware, as I know that'll screw over Gateway NN3DS support (soon). Can I just connect to wifi, refuse to download firmware updates, and update my copy of Sm4sh to play with friends? Thanks!

Nope. Until Gateway releases their new update with EmuNAND support for the New3DS, you can't download updates without updating. You have to either wait or update your New3DS.

Nope. Until Gateway releases their new update with EmuNAND support for the New3DS, you can't download updates without updating. You have to either wait or update your New3DS.

Yes, you can still play Sm4sh offline without any of the update patches, but you still won't be able to play with your friends that have downloaded the update patches for the game.

Bottom line: You won't have the latest game patch, and in order to get that update you have to enter Eshop. But Eshop requires you to be on the latest firmware before you can access it. So playing online in a game that requires an update patch is impossible since you can't get it, unless you updated the 3DS.

You need that game update patch to play online, the game will block you until you have Smash 1.0.5 (The latest update patch)
