Hacking Play Xenoblade X on 5.3.2 without updating?

As the title says is it possible to play Xenoblade Chronicles X on 5.3.2 without updating? Is spoofing safe? Also does using the kernel exploit or any of the other related exploit change the nand in the system so that nintendo could brick you in an update, or is it an exploit that needs to be ran every time through the browser in order to use the exploit?

Thanks, I was going to purchase Xenoblade X in the morning to play over the holidays in my family's cabin, as I will have a massive amount of free time over the next week.
