Gaming Pikmin 3 has gone rare!

Damn thanks for the input!! Do I buy or wait it out for a cheaper price...


My wanted games are: WW HD, SM3DL, Wonderful 101 and pikmin 3... in that order!!

Okay so while I didn't want to post this list to avoid any scalper of reading I'll still post it. These games below are somewhat expensive and rare in Europe now for the Wii U version specifically.

Games I personally have will include a *

1. Pikmin 3 (Nintendo) *
2. The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (Nintendo) *
3. Barbie: Dreamhouse Party (Little Orbit) *
4. Monster High: 13 Wishes (Little Orbit) *
5. Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Capcom) *
6. Sniper Elite V2 (505 Games) *
7. Phineas and Ferb: Quest for Cool Stuff (505 Games) *
8. Funky Barn (505 Games) *
9. Watch Dogs (UbiSoft)
10. Sports Connection (UbiSoft)
11. One Piece: Unlimited World Red (Bandai Namco) *
12. Pac-Man & the Ghostly Adventures (Bandai Namco)
13. Pac-Man & the Ghostly Adventures 2 (Bandai Namco)
14. Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (Bandai Namco) *

Now that's a lot of games which some aren't that great but their price value doesn't drop.

Get Pikmin 3 now, because availability is scarce and you can't tell if the price is going down.
Then, get Wonderful 101, because it's going for cheap online (e.g. eBay).
Wait for the next Zelda to come out, I'm sure WWHD will have gone down in price by then.
Also wait for a promotion/etc. from Nintendo for SM3DW, so you'll get it cheaper.

ShopTo on Play.com has it for about £32.85 which is cheaper than their price at eBay (£32.99).

And at eShop it costs £40 for a digital copy. lol

I've heard bad things about sports connection.

Thanks for considering. I'm honestly desperate to play WWHD over christmas as I've never had the honour of a play through on gamecube but I understand if you'd want to keep your copy and make money off it on ebay.

I have a bid for the wonderful 101, could go through for around 25 in 2 days time. Otherwise there is an offer I have for £27 but i feel thats a bit high as I've seen it previously go for £20.

You'd feel better buying candy than Sports Connection, trust me... No reason to get it now anyway since there's Wii Sports Club (retail version) that's Wii Sports on steroids (HD, MotionPlus, much more refined) and actually fun with friends, etc.

Where were you a month ago... I sold my limited edition WWHD box with the Ganondorf figurine (still unopened) WITH the official Prima strategy guide on eBay for £35-ish. Just wasn't my kind of game and I'd hate to be a scalper. You can only hope someone like me is selling the game for cheap :/

I'd never buy from Germany, though. No offence to the guys over there (Bimmel?) as I speak the language, but games localized für Germany may not even come with English manuals, not to mention they often have different covers (in German) and they have that huge, distracting USK logo on the front.

It's a very unique experience. It was my first Pikmin 3 game and I loved it. The DLC packs are great too.

I'm distressed to hear those words.. cruel shinkodachi has no love for us.

..but actually I'm with you here. We got trough a lot of trouble regarding manuals and covers. Are there still manuals being made for WiiU games? Cause we sure dont get any in our games. The USK thing is a horrible chapter in our history.

Shinko @ All Wii U German copies include English too and I know this because I've got plenty of German copies over UK due to sometimes being cheaper. I can't speak for DS, 3DS and so on.

There are like six million walmarts. . (Out of stock online. Btw: online they are down to just 4 pre-owned titles and all crap)

Actually GameStop has it locally pre-owned for $55. Bestbuy.com has it for $35, but shipping not available and not in my area or any area I have friends that would ship it to me. I guess licking a stamp is to complicated for the Geek Squad.

I want my $37 Pikmin 3 damit.

All I have are some software instructions with 2 pages. The real instructions are only found online. I think I never saw a real WiiU game booklet.

They do? Which country are they from? The only game with a thick manual like old times is Lego City Undercover because the rest is a pamphlet + Nintendo Club points card or nothing but safety bs.

The Americans have it worse, just watch the unboxing of Captain Toad US Wii U:



Nintendo of America is pretty damn cheap to not be able to afford to include separate Nintendo Club point cards like the European copies have and the cover looks rather unfinished and incomplete.

It's even more ridiculous to imply that other games are also "somewhat expensive and rare". News flash: steam holds sales which causes PC games to rapidly decline in value, but not everyone follows suit. So some stores charge more for it...big deal. Just order it from another store. Or do what PC gamers do for years: buy it from the eshop.
2) what's with the manuals? The last time I looked in a manual was in diablo 3 for PC, and that was just to search for the serial key. I haven't actually read a gaming manual since last millennium. And there's no reason to, as all games since then come with tutorials.

Really...did I miss a contest announcement or something? Did Iwata announce that nintendo has hidden five golden entry tickets in their game manuals that would grant the winners a tour through nintendo headquarters and witness the oompa loompa's corporate slaves coworkers at work?

Get used to this happening - physical prints of games will become more and more rare in favour of digital distribution. Boxed games will eventually become something only collectors get, limited prints will only become more and more prominent as the generation goes on. If you want a game in box, get it once it's out or you're risking not getting it at all.

By scalping, I think people are referring to those who take advantage of the lack of copies and raise prices to earn a quick buck.

The eshop is pretty overpriced as it is for a digital purchase.

I agree in that I don't get the manual thing either tho.

If you were to say you'd want like PS2 and Original Xbox games you could get them without any trouble and for low prices but the thing is that when any game has the Nintendo logo on it it's more than likely bound to be a special case because the quantity wasn't enough and then when someone wants one they'll have to spend some good chunks of money for it.

It's also like Super Nintendo and Mega Drive, you can get MD games for lower prices than its Super Nintendo version, eh, it all comes to demand & supply which is short on Wii U games.
