Gaming Pikmin 3 has gone rare!

Sad part is that many stores buy games cheaply from all around the europe so many my games are in swedish, spanish, etc. and even though game is identical they never tell you this stuff before buying because they don't have to.

I really hate when they do that. I wasted ~100 euros to finally get a copy of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate with English covers. Upptäck den episka världen i Monster Hunter? No, thank you.

All I have are some software instructions with 2 pages. The real instructions are only found online. I think I never saw a real WiiU game booklet.

Lego City Undercover's manual has 22 pages.

Even if the console's set to English (United Kingdom)? I've imported copies from Spain, France and Germany no language barriers whatsoever.

The games are always in English, I mean the cover of the game itself. It doesn't affect the game, but it just looks off on a shelf to have a Swedish cover next to English covers. Nothing against Sweden, I love the people and language, but please let me buy my games with English covers.

Digital distribution won't happen for consoles.

The reason its successful for PCs is because its CHEAP as hell and it removes the hassle of installing games (which consoles don't have with physical media).

Digital on Xbox and PlayStation sometimes is pretty cheap but the same can't be said for Nintendo.

I think it's pretty much the same as it happens with news. There's internet, blogs, but newspapers and television are far from being out of fashion.

The whole manual thing is an adult issue. The kids these days just pick up the game and figure out the controls as they go along. I watch my kids get frustrated the first five minutes they play a new game. RTFM, I suggest. Nope, that's no fun.

EDIT: just got an alert from glyde.com someone just listed Pikmin 3 in excellent condition, $45.11 delivered in US.

Usually game itself is always identical to other EU countries, this includes english language, that's why they get away with that. I would really like to set my console language to finnish like I have my Steam, PS3 and Vita ._.

But digital console games are getting cheaper.

I mean PS+ and XBL already give you free games each month just for subscribing. Which you need for online play on their consoles anyway.

There's weekly sales, digital console games are starting to follow the "$10 cheaper than physical" strategy. Digital console games are steadily increasing their share in game sales. I think given the next console generation, probably about 9-10 years from now, it'll be a completely digital console generation. No more discs.

Also they're just not priced competitively enough compared to their physical counterparts. For example, PS+ recent sales have really just brought overpriced digital titles to around the price those physical titles are now on amazon (obviously there are exceptions like persona 4 golden... which was only on sale for like a day at a good price).



I just feel if I were a console gamer exclusively, I'd rather have physical copies so I can sell them on. I don't mind having digital purchases on my PC because it saves me a lot of hassle and they are cheap as hell.


With the way technology is going, everything SHOULD become digital but I don't think it will do because of the availability or unavailability of internet etc.

The thing that I absolutely dislike about other European Nintendo covers is that on the spine they've all got different colour stripes and given I've already established a collection with all greens it just doesn't look very pleasant on the shelf with yellow, purple, grey and so on. The Australian Wii U spines don't have colour stripes but instead it's their rating that takes the place instead.

From a color blind person who had to study the pics for a few minutes to figure out what you are talking about. The little triangle on the bottom? Wait until you are 40 and can't read rhe splines unless you are exactly 2 1/2 feet away.

Not like Bayonetta sticks out like a sore thumb.

What I do have a problem with, however is this:

Even though the game is only in English, the USK rating sticks out way too much and ruins the cover for me. That's why I'm especially careful if buying from eBay, as sellers often have the UK PAL version in the listing, but the actual product is different. (Exactly what happened here to me. Ordered the same game twice just to get the cover right...)

I could've sworn I saw them last week on eBay from a UK seller going for £20. I'm pretty sure it was the limited edition pack, too.

It sometimes drops to £20 just keep an eye out but really, you sure you'd want to buy this game knowing of the terribly long loading times and such? It's not that great of a game, I found it to be just about OK.

P.S.: I finally got an LCU cover with the green coloured stripe (UK) but damn that's kind of scarce even in UK!
