i get the following error when i try to connect to the hdd

Code:

ps2hdd: PS2 APA Driver v1.1 (c) 2003 Vector
ps2hdd: max open = 1, 3 buffers

192.168.0.10: No error
hio: 192.168.0.10: open failed with -1.

network transfer does work with the same hdd using HDLGManClient.exe

pfsshell does work with the same hdd attached locally to win7-x64

Code:
> device hdd4:
ps2hdd: PS2 APA Driver v1.1 (c) 2003 Vector
ps2hdd: max open = 1, 3 buffers
ps2hdd: 00:31:43 01/31/2019
hio: hdd4:: opened.
hio: 234452610 sectors.
ps2hdd: disk0: 0x0df97682 sectors, max 0x00400000
ps2hdd: checking log...
ps2hdd: drive status 0, format version 00000002
ps2hdd: driver start.
ps2fs: Playstation Filesystem Driver v1.0
ps2fs: (c) 2003 Sjeep, Vector and Florin Sasu
ps2fs: Max mount: 2, Max open: 8, Number of buffers: 64
ps2fs: Driver start.

does anyone have a clue what could cause the problem?

i found another way to transfer files to the hdd: RadHostClient1.8a.exe

drag a file into the client and copy it with ule from host:/

Yep, that's the most reliable way to transfer files

As for the original question, I don't think pfsshell supports a remote disk... I'm not sure there even is a suitable server homebrew!

the readme says it should work with networked ps2 hdd

as for the server i assumed hdl_svr_093.elf should work, but i also tried ule, opl and hdlgameinstaller...

I have found a portuguese website which recommends hdl server 0.8.6, given the age of the program it makes sense

the one built into OPL is unsurprisingly 0.9.3 (and it's even broken in some versions), hdlgameinstaller uses a completely different protocol

ok, thanks for the info, i'm pretty happy with RHC, if i drag a folder into RHC i can even access the sub-folder structure from host:/

so now i can ie. update opl without usb ;)
