I feel bad just sitting here only knowing the basics of coding and almost no Japanese. Yet here I am, begging others to do the work for me as I attempt to learn how to be of use. Kinda sucks.
I hope it happens someday. I find that a lot of games I want translations for sit while other things (Digimon for example) seem to be high priority.

Hi, feeling I should chime in as well.
Last year I spent some time analyzing Batsu, and particularly I made a lot of bit comparisons with similarly-named files in Tsumi as well as the Innocent Sin English translation. As a result, I've identified what about half of the files in the CPK are. I also wrote a batch extractor/repacker for the GIM image archives used in the game. I have notes as well about the locations of various font tables I found, as well as the locations of some plain text such as shop conversations that aren't packed away like the main plot dialogue seems to be.
I'm just sitting on this stuff rather than using it, so if anyone is interested in making a translation, I'm happy to share this small amount of preliminary work.
I think I've made a little progress! Think I just found some tables for selecting names for characters in bj.bin. Might be wrong though, but this is the first time I've found something in the files which is actually readable.

These strings of characters are a coincidence, unfortunately. bj.bin is an archive of images for the blackjack casino game. The images are in a format called GIM (sort of).
GIM images are a Sony file format that some people might recognize from PS3 theming. For our use, it's common in PSP games as well. This game uses what I like to call MIG files:

The reversal of the header informs conversion software as to the endianness of the file. (PS3 uses big-endian, PSP little-endian.) The table below the header is a map of the file; we don't need to know the specifics.
The table at the start of the archive file lists the sizes of the individual files. The first value is the number of contained files, plus one. The last value (0A) informs the PSP that the table has ended, then the line is filled by 00. This table is important to get right, because the PSP uses these values when loading the game to determine that everything is okay.
The file sizes in the original tables are sometimes smaller than their related files by 4 bytes. It's unclear when this is supposed to take place, or if it matters at all. Probably not a big deal, but it's hard to know without reinsertion.
The main problem with continuing the hack is that repacking the main CPK file for reinsertion into the ISO is out of my grasp, for now. There are two files inside it that are both named "card.bin", and I'm not sure how to get them both back into the CPK without painstaking manual insertion. So this project needs a body of CPK documentation to move forward, or access to CRI Middleware's in-house tools.

Yep, I post at 4c's smtg threads from time to time, and I'm also testing the MT1(NES) fan translation. Personally I've done Shikigami no Shiro (PC) and Ougon Musou Kyoku(also PC). No PSP experience yet, but I'm willing to learn.
