[quote="PercentSevenC, post: 4952099, member: 200564"I've got the soldering skills. Just need a Raspberry Pi, but I've been thinking of getting one to tinker with anyway.[/quote]

Its harder to solder the custom microusb-sd card cable.

I have been using 2.0b2 for a few months....no problems at all. I haven't touched emunand at all, so I have no backup or anything.

You do not preach with conviction, all bricks I've seen are not the result of normal use of the Gateway...
The use is simple, I do not see the interest to 40 diagnoses or turn off the console after loading the emunand, etc.... I load the profile and I play, result 0 brick...

if you believe gateway doesn't brick your console then just run the diagnostics a few times :) I swear nothing bad will happen

Lol troller.

It's proven on the other thread that 2.0b2 causes bricks.
That video shows the brick coming from diagnostic test.

I'm on 2.0b2, never ran the test, and have yet to brick.

All in all, at your own risk.

I use 2.0b2 from the first day, everything went very well ... I have never believed the stories of brick ...

I think that's why jrr6415sun said that.

The bricks are not a bug. That's a fact.

Also, for the record, I'm using 2.0b2 again. I switched to 1.2 for a while, but required EmuNAND again, and didn't want to bother with 2.0b1. There's a wonderful unbrick solution available, which I will use in case my 3DS bricks. So far, though, no brick.

while the bricking code was included on purpose, i don't believe they intended to brick users of genuine gateway card, so in that sense it is a bug, the diagnostics mode seems to be an even bigger bug, but then thats what can happen if your start adding dodgy brick code to your firmware

Well, yea, the bricking of Gateway users is probably a bug.

There was rumors going around at the time BrickGate was occurring, that a member from a spanish language forum reported a bootrom error from using 2.0b1. That was enough for me..... I had about 120 aussie dollars of DLC from the eShop inside my emuNAND and I formatted my SD card straight away and launched a DS card to erase the exploit..... There's no way im bricking my white 4.4 XL.... Running 1.2 at the moment.

tbh there is always a rumor, i could start a rumor that i got bricked with 1.2, its not like the bricks are 100% death anyway, it is recoverable :P

Yes, that's true. But unfortunately for me, I couldn't solder to save my life..... And I dont own a PI or arduino.... That means I'll have to find someone to do it for me..... If there is anyone in Australia that could supply the service for that awesome USB port in the bottom corner, please hit me up!!!!
