Good morning everyone. I have a little problem. I followed the tutorial from KazoWAR to replace Gold's overworld with Red's one, and this is what's happening :

Can somebody help me ? Also, is there any method to change the sprite in-battle and things like this ?

from what i see it seems the walking sprite has some images the wrong way, it happened to my pachi hack, i was missing a sprite and had one in the wrong order, try copying each sprite on a fresh ow trainer sprite (make sure there the right way), or you have not got the sprites in the right position so not in the middle, if you want i could give fixing the sprite a try? for credit

Oh, and there is still a matter : how can I open the .btx (if they are the good one) for the in-battle sprites, like this one :

Yeah, I know, this is a custom sprite, but it's for the example.

Hey, here's a Kotone overworld Sprite I extracted and modified a little. Use the same positions with red and then replace it on Gold. This works like a charm in my SoulSilver.

but you are using just one file (just as i did) or multiple images?
btw, i noticed that you are using one long image, and mine is a rectangle, maybe that is the problem?

oh, yes, editing the .narc files directly... here's how to do it:

credits to alpha from projectpokemon

1.- unpack your rom with dslazy or dsbuff. extract the file /a/0/8/1
2.- rename it to 1.nds
3.- open up poketex and load 1.nds
4.- edit as you wish. when reinserting another sprite, you will need to change the pallet, so before inserting, save the another pallet settings (sorry, manually)
5.- save and rename 1.nds to 1 and put it back where it was.
6.- pack your rom
7.- enjoy

maybe it's a little hard than kazowar method (haven't seen it) but works perfectly.

p.s: you can change the names (not the values) from the list.txt to know quicker where the sprite is.

ugh, do you have a tutorial ? i don't really understand how it works. :s
i understand how to change the colors, but how can you replace the sprites (i'm a noob at hacking) ? =/

well, it's not over, but nevermind, i'm happy, finally a good result.

edit : yeaaah, i knew it... another problem : how can i know the sprite palette offset of the character ? i need it for the bicycle sprite set.

In the area where are numbers to 0-9 and letters A-F with colors, double click on any of them and the window with color configuration will pop up, and there you have it.

P.S: a question, who did the others sprites for red? you? I'm looking for someone to make others sprites of Rocket Kotone/Lyra (swim, bicycle, etc)

Hey Yellow, had any progress on the hack?

If anyone is willing to help implement the attached sprites/overworlds to a ROM of HeartGold or SoulSilver, it would be aprreciated.

I misunderstood your question. Technically, I don't know how to do this, but manually, yes. Open your sprite in paint/whatever and select colors and see their values (you should have 16 colors) Then, take a note on a txt file and then edit the pallete on PokeTex
