Well, you can pretty much infer what the title implies. It should be able to work, because freeShop and CIAngel connect to similar servers, right? It could be based off of that.
I don't know, just an idea. It can be troublesome to have to use a PC as the 3DS is, y'know, portable.
In my case, I installed a custom keyboard and want to replace it with a factory standard.

you want to restore the original keyboard? i think the only way is by restoring a back

Most assets of the system can be restored from a .cia.
(Though I really should have used GodMode9)

this is what i originally based CIAngel on, it was a fork of this lol
although it's had a complete revamp so i don't think it should count as a fork anymore
