whats a shiney/shinny pokemon?


A shiny Pokemon is a Pokemon that is a different colour to the 'normal' one. They're really rare, the chances of finding one are 1 in 8192.

As an example:

Normal gyarados

Shiny gyarados

And...

Normal charizard:

Shiny Charizard:

and "slave pokemon for rock smashes" - are they just in your team but never used in battle? - doesn't that take up a valuable place in the crew? im guessing you dont teach the smash move to a valued member so they can keep a handy attack in their armory?

Yes. Basically it's a Pokemon you have in your team taht you don't raise or use in battle, and just have in there for HM moves. HM moves are a pain because they're generally not that great, and can't be forgotten when you want to learn a new move - they have to be deleted by the Move Deleter in a particular city in the game.

Technically they do take up a valuable slot, but i find you only ever really need 6 fully trained pokemon when you're fighting the elite four or someone really hard. And at this point in the game, you won't need to be using HM moves.

wow thats lucky..

today i was wandering around and i found and caught a chansey..
either i was lucky, or they've become common pokemons in this generation.
i remember they were always so rare, so when i saw a chansey my eyes were like

I just transferred my JP save to my US save, saved myself like 35 hours of play

So I connected to Wi-Fi and entered the Union Room, now how do I obtain my FC?

It's not in my Pal Pad, it just says "Connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi" when I try to get it... But I did that already o.O

Am I missing something or is there a problem with roms going online?

go to the bottom of a pokecenter and go on wifi.
if you can connect, then go back out.
go to pal pad.
there are 3 options: look at friends, register a friend, and your own code.
it should be there.

That's what I did, before I made that post.

It still tells me to Connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi or whatever it says. (the third option in the Pal Pad)


Maybe it's my save? The fact that I transferred a JP one to the US version that's doing it?

back to the shinys.... yeah i found a shiny pokemon and caught it. but it was just a... wurmple :'(
I won't train it, it's just to weak. It is not red like it is normally but more purple/violett. I think when i've finished the "regular" game maybe i will train it...
