Hardware o3DS XL Firmware?

Hey guys, I have two questions. First, Sun and Moon will also be playable on the o3DS line, right? And second, how do I know which Firmware an o3DS XL is on, before buying it? I need to buy 2 o3DS XL with 9.2 for my sisters, but I dont know how to identify them. Theres a list on here for n3DS XLs, not the old ones though...

I'm sure that S&M will be playable on o3ds, wouldn't make much sense if it wasn't able to. Also, not sure about finding the fw version, but depending where you buy it from, you could always message the seller and ask them to check the firmware.
