could still use an answer for this
no they are basically the same, emukid ported not64 latest changes to regular wii64 but it has gamepad support so if you are on wiiu and want to use wiiu gamepad its your best choice.
What version of Not64 are you using? (Enter to Credits tab)
you can load n64 dd games turned into n64 files but they dont always work due to compatibility, you cant use native 64dd files but converted for everdrive dd into n64 files does work, the ones that do work tough.

Here's a small comparison of two problematic games and differences between emukidid's RiceVideoLinux.ini and FIX94's RiceVideoLinux.ini, which teorically have the same settings but they have different codification, so it explain me why those issues still occur:

emukidid's RiceVideoLinux.ini
Beetle Adventure Racing: sky and trees all messed up
View attachment 290778
Yoshi's Story: broken everything
View attachment 290779

FIX94's RiceVideoLinux.ini
Beetle Adventure Racing: fixed skyboxes and trees, almost perfect GFX.
View attachment 290780
Yoshi's Story: you can actually see the levels and other things, still can't correctly see eggs or enemies but that's a huge step in that
View attachment 290781

These are just two examples, i'm going to test a few more games that had trouble before before FIX94's fix.
i applied the .ini to the wii64 file and the gfx issues with BAR arent fixed, only difference is the audio is randomly speeding up

nvm, turns out if your running games off your usb you have to have the boxart.bin and linucgfx file in the usb as well
howver im still having audio speed issues and its not just Beetle Adventure Racing, smash remix now has audio speed issues
yeah smash remix is runnign at like 100 plus fps here wtf is going on?

you can go to your settings cfg file on wii64 and chanege limit VI from 1 to 2 or 0 i use 1 seems better to me imo

some games run at many fps but the vi/s stay constant, i havent tryed smash remix but normal smash runs just fine, bettle adventure racing is abit choppy becuase it needs overclock on wiiu to be smooth imo, it runs with less audio poping on not64 becuase not64 has the pitch reduction option which helps to alleviate some audio issues.

thats a fuckin shame, he fixed smash remix's 70fps quirk without re-tying the audio to the new fps cap, goddammit
there is no new recap afaik you probably just have some setting off, i realized when going back from fix94 1.2 and the new one the settings would be off so i advice on deleting rice cfg settings and wii64 cfg settings from wii64 folder and just make new ones by using the emulator again.

So what files need to replaced for this update and where do they go? And where are the files for download? I usually just replace the boot.dol file in Wii64. Is that all I need to do or is there more to this?

yeah there is a static audio issue on wii64 1.3 only some games are affected tough im guessing it has some error converting some hz somewhere. this happens on regular wii64 and rice version of 1.3 im guessing a miscalculation somewhere.

odd shit is my forwarders still wont work, even though ive reverted the forwarders still blackscreen, annoying as hell
if your fowarders dont work is becuase you messed up the nameing, im guessing you named something diferent from how they were named before, since fowarders are name sensitive.

there are now 2 wii64 options

one is the regular one which uses a gfx plugin called gl and the otehr is rice, which uses rice gfx pluggin
each pluggin is better for some games over anothers.

first you download the 1.3 release on github
https://github.com/emukidid/Wii64/releases/tag/1.3-20212212

then you open apps folder and choose what you want, even on wii i recomend just picking wiivc version off both versions since you get the cpu clock multiplayer which is still uselfull on a wii even without overclock

so you can copy both wiivc folders into your apps folder, then open the wii64 folder(not inside the apps) and copy the boxar.bin to your won wii64 folder on the root of your sd card on your console.

then download this https://gbatemp.net/threads/not64-update.333569/page-112#post-9702025
open the zip and place the ini filde just inside the wii64 folder on the root of your device right next to the boxbin and rom folders and such, since the 1.3 release ini file is messed up somehow.

and profit, you should have 2 wii64 options on your homebrew channel so just try them out and follow the compatibility list if you want some info.

context: im on wii
dont think the id matters it just matters what the forwarder searches for

for instance my nintendont fowarder searches for sd:apps/nintendont/boot.dol if i chnaged the folder name to nintendont1 it would fail since the name wasnt the same, not sure if its sensible to N or n either, you probably changed the path name somewhere.
