Hi, I have a PS5 pro with a paired disc drive running fw 12.00. I have heard that resetting the console or re-installing the firmware (normal or recovery) will result in the disc drive being unpaired and you'll need to update to the latest system software to pair it again.
Is there a safe way to restore the OS if it ever gets corrupted without pairing the drive again? Asking this in the event of a kernel panic or power outage that may result in this issue. I found that restoring a backup does not unpair the drive.
I have also heard that instead of reformat or restoring firmware from USB, you can instead turn on the console while holding the power button until the second beep, you'll get into the same safe mode but with all the options unlocked. There you can rebuild the database, delete cache and fix the system storage. Does that help with a corrupted OS?
